MINISTER GABRIEL UPTON'S VISIT TO KCAC

 It was an exciting day on Thursday the 12th of February as the Kingsgrove Community Aid Centre received a long awaited visit by the Hon. Gabrielle UPTON,  Minister for Family and Community Services.
The Minister received a warm welcome by all in attendance on the day, which included KCAC staff & Board members, Mr Mark Coure, State Member for Oatley, Councillor Nancy Liu from Hurstville Council, Janine Hartman CEO of St George Failiy Support Services, Mr Tas Aronis representing Kingsgrove RSL & Guardian Funaerals, Skevi Panai, Director of Policy &    Planning for Dept Family and Community Services, Carol Pearson, Community Program Officer as well as clients and members of the local community .
The Minister was given a tour of the Centre by the CEO, Anne Farah-Hill and introduced to the staff and clients before sitting with everyone in the meeting room for discussion and feedback. Light refreshments were served for all.
Minister Upton said she was very humbled and honoured to receive such a warm welcome and was very impressed with the proffessionalism and presentation of the staff and its Community Partners.
The highlight of the Ministers visit was for the KCAC organisation to showcase its work with the community, its work with families of young children and vulnerable individuals. The centre has a high reputation in its engaging of communities in the local area.
CEO Anne Farah Hill stated that the Minister shoud look at the Community Hub funding component and consider any expansion to the Community Hub funding in order for the centre to continue with its work in that area.   
All in all it was a successful day all round and thanks to all who were involved in the planning.
